Cloud phone service requires an internet connection with adequate bandwidth to support telephone calls. Separate internet service (not shared with data) is sometimes recommended. Cloud-based telephones use standard Ethernet jacks and cabling within the office environment. Alternative Technologies can help you determine your needs and internet carrier options. You should understand that Internet service is not included in cloud phone service charges. Still, switching to the cloud usually results in dramatically lower monthly bills. That’s one of the reasons that so many organizations and local businesses are making the decision to switch to cloud phone service.
Save money by installing cloud phones yourself. A staffperson with modest IT skills can set up your new phones to work optimally. They will need to know how to add a new device to your office network, how to configure any firewalls you may have on your network, and how to contact your internet provider if any changes are necessary.
We welcome organizations going the self-serve route. Our helpdesk is available for limited troubleshooting assistance.
Full Service—With an Alternative Tech
Not sure about firewalls or routers? You can always leave the installation to us! Great voice service is guaranteed when an Alternative technician handles your installation. We begin with an assessment of your organization’s bandwidth, and finish up with a free training for all of your staff, ensuring that they get started using their cloud phones quickly and easily.
Either way—you can count on Alternative Technologies.
As long as you maintain cloud phone service with Alternative, help is just a phone call or email away. Our Telecom Helpdesk is always available during business hours, and there is never a charge for answering questions or troubleshooting issues. If it’s an after-hours emergency, calling our office will direct you to our on-call technician, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Alternative’s cloud phone service is portable too. The telephones can be used at home or on the road—any place with an internet connection. Portability and programmability also make cloud phone service well suited for responding to emergencies. By using the web-based interface, calls can be easily forwarded to different numbers (out of a disaster zone). It is also possible to move the phones, singly or as a group, and re-establish the phone system in a new location—without the involvement of any carrier or third parties.
With Alternative’s cloud phone service, your staff has no ongoing maintenance responsibility. Hosted in the cloud, performance of the service is monitored 24/7 by qualified data center technicians.
